Raymond Paxton MD graduated from University of Washington with a bachelor of science in cell and molecular biology. After receiving his MD at Oregon Health Sciences University and completing his residency training he began his medical practice in Austin. Dr. Paxton prides himself on providing comprehensive care and focuses on education, prevention and safety.

For fun, Betty enjoys cycling and swimming at the Springs with her husband and two teenage sons. Betty's two favorite females are the four-legged variety, Annie and Mollie, the terriers (terrors)!
Dr. Paxton is an outdoor enthusiast as well as animal lover. He has four dogs and two sugar gliders. When he isn’t swimming, running or doing yoga he is enjoying his South Austin home with his family. He loves living in a city where water is plentiful.
Betty Cravens-Cruz is the Medical Aesthetician. Betty has worked in the skin care field since 1987. She has worked with the world's largest cosmetic companies and in Austin's own favorite spas.
Betty is fortunate to have worked with laser and medical aesthetics since 2001. She holds multiple certifications on lasers, injectables and other aesthetic techniques. She continues to learn the newest techniques and methods for helping her patients achieve their beauty ideals.
Betty's passion is in helping her patients feel better about themselves. She restores their confidence by improving their appearance and resolving those little beauty flaws that can plague self-esteem. She most enjoys the rapport and friendships that she builds with patients, and knows that there is no higher compliment than when she is referred to a sister or daughter or friend of a patient. She feels lucky to count multi-generational family members as her clients!

Amanda Rambo is the new Office Manager for Urban Dentistry and Laser Spa. Amanda brings a gracious attitude and postive energy to the group. She is experienced in dental and is excited to learn about the laser spa services.
Amanda is a native of Washington state and new to the Austin area. She graduated from Central Washington University where she studied biology and chemistry. Amanda has had a passion for dentistry since she started in the field in 1999. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, she enjoys time outdoors, be it skiing on a lake or riding snowmobiles through the woods. She is excited to be residing in the Lonestar state and thrilled to be the newest member of Urban Dentistry and Laser spa.‘08.

Karen Kalina Rathmell is our newest medical aesthetician. She became excited about medical aesthetics in 2000 when she experienced first hand how the various treatments can transform the skin. Two years later she was working in the field.
She holds a NCLE (National Council on Laser Excellence) laser certification for all aesthetic lasers from the Laser Training Institute and formal training from Medicis for injectables. Her experience includes serving as clinic director of a med spa in Austin and San Antonio. One of her passions is attending workshops and seminars to expand her knowledge in other aesthetic treatments and to learn about effective science-based skin care products. Karen would love to customize a plan for you.
Karen enjoys the Austin live music scene, taking long walks and spending time with her Poodle/Chihuahua mix that is “so ugly she is cute.” She and her husband call south Austin home. Their twin sons are grown with one proudly serving this country in the U.S. Navy and the other is the lead singer for an up and coming local band named Aimless Gun.
